World Cup History:
Nigeria didn’t make their first appearance in the FIFA World Cup until 1994, but they stunned everyone by making it to the Round of 16, with only a brilliant 89th minute goal from Italy’s Roberto Baggio stopping them from making it to the quarterfinals. They made Round of 16 again in 1998, the first round in 2002 but failed to qualify for the 2006 World Cup.
